Preparatory activities for the revision of the nationally determined contribution (NDC) for the year 2025 were launched on May 19 in Brazzaville by Arlette Soudan-Nonault, Minister of the Environment, Sustainable Development and the Congo Basin (MEDDBC), in her capacity as Executive Coordinator of the Congo Basin Climate Commission (CCBC), at a technical workshop.
The process of revising the nationally determined contribution is in response to the agreements signed at COP 21 in Paris and 28 in the United Arab Emirates. Organized in partnership with NDC partnership and the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI), the workshop aims to rectify the Republic of Congo’s NDC 3.0, which is expected in the coming months, after final validation by international and national experts.
