It has been 17 years since graphene was discovered. The potential applications of this nanomaterial seem almost limitless as its mechanical, thermal and electrical properties are astonishing. But contrary to promises and hopes, they are slow to materialize. Its large-scale manufacture at economically realistic costs is difficult. But patience will eventually pay off.
