The question of financing climate action will be at the heart of COP29 debates. Negotiations must reach agreement on the New Collective Quantified Target (NQT), which aims to increase financial support for developing countries by at least $100 billion a year to help them in their mitigation and adaptation efforts in the face of the climate crisis.
Discussions on the implementation of the Loss and Damage Fund, designed to support countries that have historically been the least polluting, but the hardest hit by the climate crisis, will also have to continue.
