In Burkina Faso, as in most sub-Saharan African countries where agriculture is mainly rain-fed, the vulnerability of the production system to climatic hazards is a challenge. The government can count on regional initiatives to improve farmers’ resilience. The Steering Committee of the West African Food System Resilience Program (PRSA-BF) intends to disburse more than 15 billion CFA francs ($23.6 million) to carry out its activities in the country by 2025. The announcement was made in a press release published on Sunday January 5 on the Ministry of Agriculture’s Facebook page.
