In recent months, a serious reflection on the valuation of cocoa pods in biochar in the west of Côte d’Ivoire (in particular at DOKE) has been initiated. It is the work of a cooperative of dynamic women committed to sustainable development. In fact, in addition to the biochar that they plan to produce, bio-charcoal briquettes are also targeted, in order to help reduce the strong pressure on what remains of Ivorian primary forests.

This initiative of approximately 10,000 US dollars will probably see a turning point in the coming weeks, with the setting up of a dynamic fundraising team.

All goodwill is expected to strengthen it and help bring about the emergence in Côte d’Ivoire of concrete initiatives in the production and use of biochar, with a view to improving, without harmful inputs to the environment, the yields of crops. cultures.
