In 2050, half of humanity will be African. The prospect seems distant but the phenomenon which leads to it is very current. The demographic growth at work in the African continent primarily impacts the cities. Depending on the territory, urban development takes place between 20% and 80% in informal urbanization. This shows the extent of the challenges facing States, local authorities and civil society. It is not less than building innovative trajectories of sustainable cities.

This twelfth title of the Points Fnau collection aims to identify the challenges of transitions at work – demographic, social, economic, environmental, climatic and in terms of governance – through testimonies and analyzes of experts, town planners and French and African elected representatives.
