Against this backdrop, the Ivorian government is taking steps to promote agroforestry, a sustainable solution aimed at combating land degradation while offering farmers an alternative. <\/p>\n<p>As part of this drive, the government has announced an ambitious project in the department of Sassandra: the creation of five permanent agroforestry zones covering a total area of 20,000 hectares. This project is part of the Okromodou forest reserve rehabilitation initiative and was approved on Friday March 14, 2025.
